Dealing with probate without a legal expert 'risky'
Probate & Estate Administration 02 Aug 2011

People can handle an estate and apply for probate without the help of a legal professional, but that this method is risky.
This is according to Irene Cox, a solicitor for a Stockton law firm and a member of legal group Solicitors for the Elderly, who said: "People aren't always aware of the complexities and assume probate work is straightforward."
She said that the process can be straightforward, but is sometimes more complex.
According to Ms Cox, in every case that is not really straightforward people should look for timely specialist
legal advice so that they are spared worry and save money too.
Further wills and
probate advice was also given by Kate Handel, a local member of Solicitors for the Elderly, who told Clickliverpool.com that people should have their will drafted by a professional so that they can save money on inheritance tax.
