Demelza Hospice commends estate legacy donation
Probate & Estate Administration 21 Nov 2011

A £700,000 cheque has been donated to the Demelza Hospice Care for Children, fulfilling the wishes laid out by former Kent nightclub owner Francis Stone in his will.
The single legacy payment was made using the
probate power reserved by the family of Mr Stone, who had specified in his will that money should be used to support a hospital or hospice of the trustee's choice, according to the Kent Messenger.
The cheque was presented at an event hosted at the Casino Rooms on October 16th.
Speaking to the newspaper, Demelza chief executive Steve Hoy explained: "I would like to say a huge thank-you to the Stone family for their continued support of Demelza, both through the substantial legacy and the recent event at the Casino Rooms.
"It was a fantastic event, with around £2,000 raised from the night."
Leaving money to a charity when people
make a will is easy enough, according to the Institute of Professional Will writers chairman, Paul Sharpe.
However, he noted that the number of people who leave a legacy to charity "remains disappointing".
