Inheritance tax advice given
Probate & Estate Administration 08 Apr 2011

People who have landed estates have been offered advice on how to reduce the amount of inheritance tax their successors will have to pay.
Country Life magazine said that there are several measure that those interested in probate should note to achieve this aim.
The news source advised people with estates that will be subject to inheritance tax to form a succession plan so they can determine exactly how much goes to loved ones and the taxman. Notably, this is particularly crucial if people have second families.
However, Country Life said that this tax should not be the only consideration, those
making a will should also take their family's needs and wishes into account.
People who are married have also been advised to ensure that their will complements their partners and that it is reviewed regularly as circumstances and laws surrounding it alter.
The importance of making a will to avoid family disputes was also shown by an argument between Philip Armstrong and his sister Janet Jones. Kentonline.co.uk reported that Mr Armstrong ran over his sister's foot when they began arguing over their mother's estate.
