Probate advice issued by expert
Probate & Estate Administration 03 Aug 2011

An expert on
wills and probate matters has issued advice to those who have a loved one who has recently passed away.
Helen Hill, general manager at the Society of Will Writers (SWW) Trust Corporation, said: "Many simple probates can be dealt with efficiently by family members."
However, she cautioned that the appointed
executor must bear in mind that they have personal liability for this estate and must make sure that it is handled in the correct manner.
She said that this individual must fill in the application for the
grant of probate and also give the required details to the HMRC so the right amount of inheritance tax is paid.
Those who are choosing a person to execute their estate have also been advised that this individual does not have to be their will provider.
Paul Sharpe, chairman of The Institute of Professional Willwriters, said that family and friends can be appointed to this role.
