probate records have revealed that a panto star left his estate to a long-time friend.
Gerard Kelly, who died at the age of 51, instructed that his £145,000 estate should be passed tor to Terry Kiely, a young English actor.
Mr Kiely and the Scottish star, who died in October from a brain aneurysm, had been friends for 18 years.
"Kell [Gerard Kelly] and I had no relationship other than a really good friendship. He was like a father figure to me. He was really generous to me. I am very proud of our friendship," Mr Kiely said.
Mr Kelly, who did not have any children, made his will four years ago in 2007 and instructed that his friend should inherit all of his estate as well as any revenues that he received from repeat TV fees.
In addition, the importance of making a will was shown last year when Alexander Mosley's £1.6 million estate went to his parents when he died unexpectedly at the age of 39.
