Royal wedding helped by wills and probate?

Probate & Estate Administration 14 Mar 2011

Royal wedding helped by wills and probate? As Kate's father was named as a will beneficiary by her late grandfather, Kate Middleton could use some of the money her parent is set to receive to fund her wedding day.

This is according to the Daily Mail, which said that Ms Middleton's family are set to receive almost £100,000 after her grandfather, Peter Middleton, died in November 2010.

The news source revealed that Mr Middleton, who died at the age of 90, left an estate worth £647,758 gross, leaving a net sum of £432,121 after his debts had been paid.

His four sons will have this sum divided between them as his will beneficiary, his wife Valerie, is also deceased. The news source said that £107,000 of the former RAF pilot's estate will have 40 per cent death duties taken off it, while in heritance tax will not be levelled on £325,000 of the amount.

Ms Middleton's father, Michael Middleton, will receive £97,000 and he and his wife Carole have already said that they want to contribute £50,000 to their daughter's nuptials.

Furthermore, Phae Comber-Jones, a legal adviser for Marie Curie Cancer Care, said that people should use a professional will writing service to ensure that their loved ones receive what they wish them to after their demise.
