Society of will writers gives opinion on wills and probate
Probate & Estate Administration 12 Apr 2011

Those looking for
probate services will be interested to hear that the Society of Will Writers has offered its opinion on the government's offer of an inheritance tax break.
The organisation said that it is so far unclear if people will leave more cash to charities in their will as a result George Osborne's plans.
Brian McMillan, director general of the Society of Will Writers, said: "I think, possibly, the [chancellor's plans] are too little. We haven't got excited about it yet."
Although he said that the incentive was a step in the right direction, he added that it would not have a lot of impact.
However, Standard Life told those interested in
wills and probate that people could alter their attitudes when it comes to thinking of charities in their will as a result of being able to save inheritance tax when ten per cent of their estates are handed over to the third sector.
