Wills and probate news: Lord Glenconner leaves assets to servant

Probate & Estate Administration 20 Jun 2011

Wills and probate news: Lord Glenconner leaves assets to servant Those interested in wills and probate matters have been told that the will of Lord Glenconner, Colin Tennant, names his servant as the sole beneficiary.

The Scottish lord bequeathed his estate on St Lucia to his servant Kent Adonai in a surprise move.

He decided to alter his will seven months before his death from cancer, without informing his family of the move.

It was thought that he would make a will that left his estate to his heir, grandson Cody. The Lord is well known for building hotels and infrastructure on the island of Mustique and making it a sought after holiday spot.

Lady Anne, Lord Glenconner's widow, has now asked Mr Adonai to give some of the estate back to the Lord's family

"Kent was beloved by Colin, but so were we all and I was married to him for 54 years. There is no rift of any kind between us and Kent and we are not angry. But we are surprised and feel Colin was very ill when the will was changed," the Daily Record reported that Lady Anne said.
