Wills and probate news: Princess Diana's jewellery gifted to museum
Probate & Estate Administration 14 Apr 2011

A probate investigation into the will of Princess Diana has resulted in some of her jewellery being gifted to a museum in South Yorkshire.
Cannon Hall Museum, which is near Barnsley, has now displayed pieces that the princess wore as colonel in chief of two army regiments.
They items were meant to be delivered to the museum when Diana died in 1997 at her sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, but became entangled in proceedings involving her estate, those interested in
wills and probate matters have been told.
Jane Galvin, a spokesperson for the museum, said: "Lady Sarah was adamant they came to the museum but they have only just been released by the estate. They were made specifically for her and are a beautiful addition to the collection."
The princess was given a diamond piece in 1992 when the 13th/18th Hussars amalgamated with the 15th/19th Hussars and had earlier received a sapphire brooch from the former in 1989.
Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.
