Wills and probate news: Ronnie Barker's son could inherit from mother
Probate & Estate Administration 04 May 2011

The mother of Ronnie Barker's son made the decision to
make a will, the contents of which have now been revealed by records.
Joy Barker left her £6,520,426 estate to her three children, Adam, Larry and Charlotte, when she died in January.
Each child will each be given around £1,340,000 each after expenses, including inheritance tax, have been taken off her estate.
However, it is unclear if Adam will collect the money, as he has been on the run for seven years, since he jumped bail.
Although he is legally entitled to his share of the inheritance, some commentators have raised ethical objections to him collecting the sum.
However,
probate law expert Bryony Cove said: "I don’t believe there are any rules that would preclude a fugitive from collecting his inheritance. In fact, the
executors have a duty to try to carry out the terms of the will."
The will of the late Ronnie Barker, which also bequeathed a sum of money to Adam Barker, was executed by the comedian's wife, Mrs Barker.
