Woman involved in wills and probate con
Probate & Estate Administration 25 May 2011

A woman who lied about
wills and probate matters to con men out of money could be handed a jail sentence.
The Mirror reported that Loraine Upritchard conned widower James Saunders out of money after informing the 81-year-old man that she was waiting for probate on her aunt's estate to be granted.
She told Mr Saunders that the money would be returned to him once she received her inheritance.
This week (May 23rd) Ms Upritchard admitted her guilt to four counts of stealing cheques from the man and two counts of fraud in Lewes Crown Court.
Ms Upritchard also appeared in court almost four years ago, this time for conning Leonard Hesling out of £2,200, but she was not jailed for this.
On this occasion, the defendant was instructed to pay the money back to Mr Hesling and was handed a community order.
In another court case this year, Kenneth Mould was revealed to have hidden his mother's death to make himself her sole will beneficiary and alter this document.
