Woman jailed for wills and probate con
Probate & Estate Administration 12 Jul 2011

A woman has received a jail sentence for a
wills and probate con.
Loraine Upritchard was given a three year prison term by judge Richard Brown in Lewes Crown Court after she took savings from an elderly man.
"Your aim is to fleece as much money as you can from lonely old men and hope they'll be too embarrassed to report the matter," judge Brown said.
The court was told that Ms Upritchard defrauded widower James Saunders of £11,000 after she saw his advert for a female companion in the Friday Ads and responded to it.
Ms Upritchard informed the 81 year old that she was called Danielle Ryan, moved into his home and borrowed sums of money from him on two occasions.
She told him that she required the money for different reasons and said that she would return it
after probate had been granted on the estate of her late aunt.
In another case involving wills and probate matters, Peter Clarke was given a four month jail sentence in May after continuing to claim benefits when he had received an inheritance, the St Helen's Star reported.
