Family of man who died in Thailand urge 'make a will'

Will writing 18 Aug 2010

Family of man who died in Thailand urge 'make a will' The family of a man who died while working in Thailand have urged people going overseas to make a will, talking of the heartache caused by legal issues that arose while trying to repatriate the body.

Shaun Allaway, brother of the deceased Matthew Grant, stated: "People who are going abroad, think of your loved ones. Get a solicitor, make a will. Carry some ID and a bit of paper with your name and address," reports the BBC.

Will-writing could have helped his loved ones in the difficult time after the victim was killed in a road accident, as the family only found out about the death through Facebook.

Probate issues have also caused strife in the five weeks since the accident, as Mr Grant's relatives claim they received poor information on the subject from the British Embassy.

An inquest has opened into the death and the Swindon Advertiser reports family members had difficulty identifying the body due to the nature of the injuries caused.  ADNFCR-3248-ID-800030177-ADNFCR
