Free will writing advice essential as 1.5m leave money to pets?

Will writing 03 Nov 2010

Free will writing advice may benefit many, as new data shows almost 1.5 million individuals hope to name a pet in their will. Free will writing advice could be important for Britons, as new research shows 1.5 million want to leave everything they own to their pets.

Executors of wills could have a difficult time honouring such requests, as animal beneficiaries would have little use for stocks or savings accounts.

Making a will can ensure friends and family benefit appropriately from an individual's estate, with unbiased.co.uk revealing 87 per cent of people want their assets to pass to relatives on the event of their death.

Charity wills are also popular, as almost 4.5 million want to donate their belongings to a good cause after they are gone.

Seeking free will writing advice could be the first step towards getting affairs in order, whether making a will is an attempt to donate to family member, or a more unusual beneficiary.

Last week, the advice website revealed 30 million UK adults are without a will, meaning almost half the population would have no control over the division of their estate after death.
