Making a will "more important for younger people"
Will writing 03 Nov 2010
Making a will is more important for younger individuals than older people, it has been stated.
Paul Sharp, chairman of The Institute of Professional Willwriters, advised: "The best time to consider it is as soon as you have something to leave and that's typically when people first buy property."
He revealed himself to be of the view younger generations are more in need of making a will and this may be due to care issues relating to offspring or dependent family members.
Free will writing advice could be the first port of call for those considering drawing up a testament, as the perceived financial burden should not be allowed to dissuade individuals from taking this important step.
Earlier this year, a survey by children's charity Barnardo's revealed 42 per cent of UK citizens have not yet made a will, a number that rises to almost three-quarters (74 per cent) for under-55s.
