Making a will "one of the best things you can do to protect family"
Will writing 12 Nov 2010

Making a will has been strongly advised by one writer, who notes the move has a number of benefits people may not even have considered.
Writing in the Guardian, Jill Insley states making a will is among "the best things you can do to protect your family, allowing you to make sure your assets benefit the people you care about rather than those prescribed by intestacy rules".
She notes will writing services can help people appoint guardians for their children and protect inheritance until the benefactors are old enough to handle it themselves.
Charity wills are being promoted this month by solicitors supporting Will Aid, who are offering to draw up testaments free of charge, providing clients make a donation that will then be shared between nine major UK charities.
The suggested contribution for mirror wills is £110, with £75 advised for a single will and £40 to alter an existing document.
November is the charity's Make A Will month, when lawyers around the country give their time free of charge to the cause.
