Will-writing 'to avoid unnecessary expense and anxiety'
Will writing 22 Sep 2010

Will-writing must be carried out correctly and observe all the necessary legal protocol in order to make sure people's needs are taken care of, one expert has stated.
Iain McAndrew, vice-chair of Remember A Charity and Head of Legacies at Save the Children, revealed: "Appropriately drafted wills ensure that executors and beneficiaries are safeguarded from unnecessary expense and anxiety when a will is administered," Civil Society reports.
An investigation by the Legal Services Consumer Panel is to be carried out to determine whether will-writing services can be properly administered by non-lawyers, following concerns raised by a recent Panorama programme.
Whether or not will-writing firms should be regulated is an important issue currently being debated in the legal system, but individuals might be able to protect themselves ahead of the resolution of the issue by ensuring the professional they choose is reputable and recommended.
The Legacy Market Indicator recently indicated charities are likely to see funds left to them in testaments increase over the second half of 2010.
