Conman in court for tricking will beneficiary
Will writing 01 Mar 2011

A man has been tried in court after stealing cash from two brothers who were left an inheritance when their father decided to
make a will before his death.
Recently, a court found that John Wright was guilty of conning Dean and Glenn Berrow out of around £30,000 of their inheritance, the South Devon Herald Express reported.
Mr Wright, of Adelphi Road, Paignton, was hired by the siblings as a financial adviser after they opted to invest in business ventures with their inheritance money.
However, Mr Wright stole the money and used it to meet his own ends, the brothers' legal solicitor argued.
Exeter Crown Court recently found that 40-year-old Mr Wright was guilty of three counts of fraud, one of theft and one of obtaining money by deception.
However, a jury found that he was not guilty of stealing cash from an ATM, two charges of obtaining a money transfer by deception and obtaining property by deception.
Furthermore, Lexology contributor Fay Copeland last year said that the number of inheritance disputes had risen. This highlights the importance of
making a will to avoid such a scenario.
