Executor fights for compensation for deceased
Will writing 28 Feb 2011

The importance of appointing trusted executors to carry out a person's wishes has been shown by a recent case in which a woman is pursuing a
compensation claim for her late partner.
Karen Dance is the
executor of her partner Jim Johnston's will. Mr Johnston died in September last year from mesothelioma, Chroniclelive.co.uk reported.
Ms Dance said: "He wanted me to fight for compensation in his memory and that's what I intend to do."
Mr Johnston, who died at the age of 64, had worked as a joiner, during which time he came into contact with asbestos while employed by Vickers Limited Shipbuilding Group in Tyneside.
An inquest recently ruled that he died of an industrial disease and now Ms Dance, of Crawcrook, Gateshead, has hired a legal service to fight her case.
In addition, Jill Insley wrote for the Guardian that people can protect their family by making a will.
