Getting married? Make sure wills and probate is taken care of
Will writing 28 Jul 2011

Couples preparing to enter a civil partnership should make sure that they consider properly writing a will, according to an expert.
Callum Kennedy, a legal expert talking to the business section of the Scotsman, was giving the advice on the eve of the marriage of Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall.
He stated that while this couple might not be short of money during their lifetime, others might face challenges when they start sharing finances.
Regarding wills, the expert added: "Those involved in active and dangerous sports should be particularly attentive in this regard. Too many people make false assumptions about what happens to their estate when they die. The only way to have absolute peace of mind is to take the simple step of having a will properly drawn up."
The Citizens Advice Bureau notes that if a couple have children then it is important to have a will in place so that suitable arrangements can be made in case both parents die.
