Son admits guilt in will and probate row murder case
Will writing 07 Apr 2011

A son has admitted that he killed his mother for fear that he would not be included when she decided to
make a will.
This week a trial at Aylesbury Crown Court, sitting at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court, heard that Usman Shahzad, 21, was concerned that his mother Assia Shahzad's new husband would inherit her wealth instead of himself.
"There had been bad feeling between Assia Shahzad and Usman Shahzad that may have been caused by the fact Assia Shahzad had found a new husband in Pakistan," Ben Gumpert, prosecuting, said.
As a result, Mr Shahzad attacked his businesswoman mother in her six-bedroom home in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
Mr Shahzad admitted his guilt prior to the commencement of the trial while a boy, who is also accused of being involved in the attack, and cannot be identified for legal reasons, denied murder.
Despite this case, people can still decrease the chances of disagreements arising between loved ones after their death by deciding to make a will and informing its beneficiaries of its contents.
