Turning to an expert 'essential when making a will'
Will writing 20 Sep 2011

Those looking to
make a will should make sure they are familiar with the possible consequences of bad drafting, an expert has advised.
Linda Cummins, head of wills at a solicitors firm, has told IFA Online that even some professionals produce terribly-written wills that would be impossible to carry out in practice.
She said: "A will should be properly drafted, clearly reflect a client's wishes and be legally compliant and enforceable."
Ms Cummins added that clients who appoint someone to write a will on their behalf expect as a minimum that the document which is produced will stand up to legal scrutiny in case it is disputed.
She emphasised the importance of close discussions between the adviser and the customer, as this will ensure that every relevant consideration has been tackled.
Earlier this month, Dr Kate Woodthorpe, a lecturer in sociology at the University of Bath, highlighted the importance of considering funeral funding when planning on
making a will.
