What to think about when making a will
Will writing 01 Sep 2011

Those who are thinking of
making a will have been advised about what to consider when compiling this document.
Toby Harris, from Toby Harris Tax Consultants and The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) tutor for the STEP Certificate in Will Preparation, said that people should make sure that they look for professional advice form someone who often includes will writing in their regular work.
He said that after this people should consider if they are mentally competent enough to
make a will, what they have got to leave and what will be subject to tax in the document.
"When you have worked out what there was and after you have taken everything out that is going to have to come out, you have then got an idea of what is left and what you can give away," he said.
Furthermore, Ruth Wharram, press officer for the Charities Aid Foundation, said that people should seek professional advice if they want to donate money to charity in their will.
