Did you know that 200 babies are born every week in the UK with a learning disability? As part of our commitment to Inspiring Young People, we are committed to helping to bring about a change in the way that young people are viewed and treated in this country.

Mencap and its sister charity ENABLE Scotland offer information, advice and support to people with a learning disability and their families and carers. Eight out of ten children with a learning disability are bullied.  Young people with a learning disability face prejudice every day and a lack of opportunities, which can make life a desperate struggle.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.  The money raised by The Co-operative will launch a new programme to help 20,000 young people with a learning disability transform their lives and gain the skills and confidence to achieve their goals.
