'Autumn days' crumble
serves 4
preparation time:
10 minutes
cooking time:
55 minutes
ingredients
170g self raising flour
115g butter
115g soft brown sugar
6 halved de-stoned plums, leave skin on
6 halved decored pears, remove skin
1 large thinly sliced cooking apple, peeled and cored
A little lemon juice
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
method
Preheat oven to 180 C
Drizzle a little lemon juice in the bottom of a ceramic flan dish.
Mix the flour, butter and sugar together with finger tips, and put to one side.
Layer the fruit pieces into the flan dish, making sure there are no gaps (work fast! The lemon juice will prevent browning if you are quick).
Sprinkle the cinnamon over the fruit, cover carefully with the crumble mix and then cover with tin foil.
Cook in oven for 40 minutes, remove tin foil and cook for a further 15mins.
Serve hot or cold with vanilla ice cream.
