Time for a check up?

As you get older you may feel great, but there are a few checks you should make regularly to give you peace of mind and ensure everything is working as it should.

Blood pressure

Have your blood pressure tested regularly if you already suffer from high blood pressure. High blood pressure causes few symptoms, but puts you at a raised risk of heart disease and stroke.

Cholesterol

High levels of cholesterol rarely cause symptoms, but increase your risk of heart disease because fatty deposits clog arteries. Speak to one of our pharmacists for advice.

Weight

Watch your weight and waist measurement. A waist measurement greater than 80cm (32in) for women and 94cm (37in) for men increases the risk of heart attack, stroke and diabetes.

FREE medicines check

have your blood pressure tested annually if you suffer from high blood pressure

If you take regular prescription medication and have any questions about it, have a chat with your local pharmacist to make sure you get the most from your medicines. The service is free and is part of a wider range or services now offered by The Co-operative Pharmacy in support of the Government’s strategy on health.

A Medicines Check is a good idea for all of us, but is especially important if:

• You don’t know how and when to take your medicines
• You’re not sure what your medicines do
• Your symptoms aren’t under control
• You have side effects
• You find it hard to remember when to take your medicines
• You find it difficult to take or swallow your medicines

FREE prescription collection service

Our FREE repeat Prescription Collection Service is a convenient way to get your repeat medicine. We can collect your prescription from your doctors and have it ready to collect from our pharmacy. Ask a member of the team about how the service can work for you.
