Weekend brings World Naked Gardening Day

Saturday will mark the sixth annual World Naked Gardening Day, sponsored by the American Association for Nude Recreation.

Gardening enthusiasts who wish to be at one with nature can do so on the day, joined by thousands of others with the same mindset.

A spokesperson for the AANR said: “When the clothes are shed, so too are the stresses of everyday life.”

The official press release went on to urge all those with an interest in gardening to mark this special occasion by “doing yard work in the buff, either alone, with friends or family, or with your gardening club”.

However, many may not feel comfortable stripping off to weed the garden path, and for those people the heavy rain that is forecast for most of the UK this weekend could be a great excuse not to join in with the US-led festivities.
