Escape to Turkey

Turkey has become very popular with holiday-makers over the last couple of years as it is outside the Euro zone.

It has everything from quality budget accommodation to all-inclusive 5-star luxury, and benefits from a delightful Aegean climate, similar to that enjoyed in the eastern Greek Islands. There is something for everyone including a selection of water sports, secluded beaches and a lively nightlife.

Bodrum

What to do?

There are some great places to explore in Bodrum, including the castle of St Peter; it’s most prominent feature, built in the early 15th century, and the museum of underwater archaeology, which showcases several collections of artefacts recovered from local shipwrecks.

If you are looking for a beautiful beach then try Bitez beach. It is perfect for families with young children and is fast becoming a water sports haven.

Where to stay?

The superb Hotel L’Ambiance exudes excellence and calm, so if you’re looking for some serious rest and relaxation it’s ideal.  Beautifully maintained to high standards, it lies in picturesque gardens two kilometres from Gumbet’s attractions and beach, and boasts its own private beach club, complete with a courtesy bus to whisk you there and back.

Marmaris

What to do?

The seaside resort of Marmaris is popular with the British budget holiday crowd, with its hectic beaches, bars and nightclubs, while its Old Quarter hosts more traditional bars and shopping if you’re looking for a more authentic Turkish experience. Outside the busy town, coves and bays of the Datça Peninsula make lovely daytrip destinations for those travelling by boat.

Where to stay?

The Apartments Aegean Princess are set in a palm-studded street and provide comfortable accommodation for couples looking to explore the bustling resort of Marmaris.  A handful of facilities are on offer for your convenience, including a pleasant restaurant serving a good selection of dishes.  When you come to explore the local area, you’ll find the popular beach with its lively promenade a 15 minute walk away.  Accommodation here is spacious and of a good standard, with each apartment fully equipped for an enjoyable self catering stay.
