July
Music: Latitude
15th – 18th July, Southwold, Suffolk.
The storming line up includes household sensations Florence and the Machine and Vampire Weekend and with the warm weather looking set to continue it’s worth trying to get hold of a ticket for this annual festival.
Art: The Hanging Gardens of Tibby Place
5th – 31st July, Tibberton Baths, Tibby Place, Islington, London.
Shane Waltner will be creating a ‘hanging garden’ throughout July with workshops open to the public to get involved in creating parts of the installation.
Comedy: Cardiff Comedy Festival
16th – 26th July, St David’s Hall, Cardiff.
Ten days will see performances from established Welsh funny men Rhod Gilbert and Russell Kane as well as stand up from up and coming comedians as part of WUSA (Welsh United Stand Up Award). 
Sport: Lacrosse World Cup
15th – 24th July, The Firs, Fallowfield, Manchester.
10 days of world class lacrosse from over 30 different countries; forget the disappointment of the football world cup and come and support the England lacrosse team instead.
August
Music: Big Chill
5th – 8th August, Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Herefordshire.
Don’t miss urban legend Kelis, firm festival favourite Mr Scruff and the effortlessly talented Plan B.
This your chance to explore the secrets of London’s Regents Park and young people between the ages of 12 and 19 years can sign up for free drama, poetry and photography workshops and take part in creative treasure hunts.
Over 3,000 entries from across the globe, spanning every imaginable genre, this really is something not to be missed but anyone with an appreciation for capturing a moment.
Comedy: Edinburgh Fringe Festival
1st – 31st August, various venues across Edinburgh.
Various artists perform across Edinburgh in one of the most famous festivals on the UK and European comedy calendars.
Your chance to try out a range of sports from archery and clay pigeon shooting to skateboarding and scuba diving. This is suitable for the whole family, no age limits apply.
September
Music: Bestival
9th – 12th September, Newport, Isle of Wight.
From the legendary fire starters The Prodigy and bonkers Dizzee Rascal to The XX and even Rolf Harris, this Isle of Wight festival has got something for everyone; it’s not called BESTival for nothing.
An incredible collection of hand crafted, woven and spun rugs, drapes and wall hangings from Southern Iran. This might seem a little off the wall but the craftsmanship alone is well worth a visit.
Comedy: Nottingham Comedy Festival
24th September – 4th October, various venues across Nottingham.
In its second year, this festival is set to be even better with performances from Stand Up Shakespeare and Jason Manford.
Professional BMX, skateboard, street surfing and freestyle football displays, performances and competitions to keep you entertained as well as live music from Newton Faulkner and graffiti jams.
