clean up cruelty
Many people are unaware that hundreds of thousands of animals across the world still endure painful experiments to test cosmetics, toiletries, household products and their ingredients.

The Co-operative Group is working in partnership with the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV) to drive animal testing out of the household products industry.

Membership teams across the UK have been working closely with the BUAV to raise awareness of the continuation of the completely needless use of animal testing for household products.

"The increase in Fairtrade awareness has been the marketing phenomenon of the decade and now the BUAV wants the 'cruelty free' logo to enjoy similar success," explained April Armstrong from the Central & Eastern region.

The membership teams have produced some fantastic campaign materials and resources to promote the Clean up Cruelty campaign, including postcards, 'Show me the Bunny' temporary tattoos and a novel photo pledge gallery where supporters can pledge their support with a photo.
