The Group Board

The Group Board is the highest level of our democracy. There are 20 directors on the board, 15 of whom are Regional Board members. Each region has at least one representative on the Board of Directors.

There are also five elected representatives from independent co-operative societies that are members of The Co-operative Group.

The Group Board is responsible for providing strategic leadership and holding management to account. It is also commercially, legally and morally responsible for members’ assets.
