As your Area Committee representative on the Regional Board, I’m seeking support for re-election.

In 2007 I believe I contributed in making the most important decision historically made in the co-operative movement.  The decision to create the Co-operative Group we know today was the catalyst for the dramatic change for the movement, which has seen both sales and profits double.  This growth has been achieved whilst carrying out a radical social responsibility programme.  The immense changes we are undertaking to modernise the business will create a Society that's in great shape and scale to compete and move forward.

The work your Area Committee has undertaken since its formation has made a real difference to your area and I hope to continue building on our community links which gives us the distinctive co-operative difference to our business.

As well as working throughout Lancashire and Cumbria, I use the whole family of co-operative businesses.  As an account holder of both the Co-operative Bank and the former Britannia Building Society, I’m lobbying for a presence in our committee’s trading area.

My experience within the co-operative movement, together with my proven track record, places me in an ideal position to understand the needs of members and to provide sufficient insight to enable me to contribute to the working of the Area Committee.
