1. What is your current involvement in The Co-operative?
Co-op employee for past 26 years
Member relations manager for past 7 years
Fairtrade workstream lead for United Co-op
2. What qualifications and/or experience do you possess that are relevant to the position of area committee member?
I have comprehensive knowledge of local communities, through 26 years of working for the Co-op across all trading divisions, with experience of: running committees, members meetings and events; managing budgets; producing financial reports; working with store, area and regional managers; membership recruitment; working with schools, community groups and local councils.
3. What other qualities would you bring to the role of area committee member?
As a firm believer in Co-operative Values and Principles, Fairtrade and Communities, I am committed to working for the continued success of the Society. My experience of working across the Society has shown me how our members and local communities can benefit from the efforts of our hard working employees.
4. What aspirations do you have for The Co-operative?
I believe that our Society should remember, value and promote its heritage whilst continuing to advance as a nationally acclaimed brand, which is recognised and acknowledged as much for its trading success as for its membership driven ethical stance and commitment to member engagement. In a competitive commercial environment, our record of spearheading local, national and global campaigns should become an integral part of our business growth strategy. Thus enabling effective engagement with younger members of our communities.
