1. What is your current involvement in The Co-operative?
I am a shopper and an active co-opted member of the area committee. I support local co-op events in order to promote the business, both commercially and its ethical ideas.

2. What qualifications and/or experience do you possess that are relevant to the position of area committee member?
I have many years experience (in local government) of both committee work and working with the general public, especially children. I am a good communicator and liaise well. I now have the time and interest to participate in Co-op events, and, also to avail myself of future personal training opportunities.

3. What other qualities would you bring to the role of area committee member?
I consider team work is an essential requisite for an effective committee and believe I have demonstrated this quality. ‘Though retired, I work as a casual museum assistant mainly with school children which helps maintain my people skills. I am a member of Stoke Co-operative Members’ Group.

4. What aspirations do you have for The Co-operative?
I am particularly attracted by the company’s ethical stance, to this end I should like to see the future development of initiatives, such as, the fair trade range and a fair price paid to suppliers generally. In an equitable society decent remuneration and training for our loyal staff are also necessary for success.I am very keen on supporting Children’s projects; after all, they are our future.
