1. What is your current involvement in The Co-operative?
I am an ordinary consumer member who has not been previously involved in the formal democratic structures of the Group.

2. What qualifications and/or experience do you possess that are relevant to the position of area committee member?
I work for a Co-op, and I’ve spent my working life in organisations that are owned by their members, and run by the people they elect.  I know how to be an effective member of a team of elected officials, working with staff to achieve collective goals.

3. What other qualities would you bring to the role of area committee member?
I am a committed co-operator my day job is at Supporters Direct helping sports fans turn their clubs into co-operatives.  I am passionate about our movement and an excellent communicator of its values and principles and its role in making life better in communities. .

4. What aspirations do you have for The Co-operative?
I want us to be the best example of another way to run businesses.  I want democratic ownership to become synonymous with success, not a weird hangover from a by-gone age.  The world needs co-operation more than ever, and co-operation needs forward-thinking, successful co-operative businesses.  Achieving that has many challenges – and pitfalls – and I would welcome the change to help the group navigate them.
