Co-operative schools

We’re committed to inspiring as many young people as possible. That’s why we’re working alongside The Co-operative College – and in particular the schools that it works with – to create a network of co-operative schools across the country.
What can we offer to schools?
- We can help develop an ethos with co-operative values and principles at the heart of a school
- We can provide business skills and access to The Co-operative Group’s family of businesses
- We can help schools develop co-operative ways of working
- We can provide a co-operative model of governance and ownership
- We can help staff and pupils gain an understanding of how membership works and how to engage people
- We can inspire young people to take part thanks to The Co-operative Group’s programme of activities.
Here are the three types of schools we’re supporting:
We also work with The Co-operative Education Trust in Scotland to support Scottish schools.
Do you know a school that would like to get involved?
Your school could get involved either through The Co-operative Group Trust or The Co-operative Group’s activities to support young people. To find out more, download our pdf Co-operative Schools – making a difference now. We also have a “Working with Schools” booklet that is a useful reference guide and a colourful celebration of The Co-operative’s contributions to education in the UK. The booklet also showcases some of the Social Goals team’s work on projects like Green Energy for Schools, Walking Buses, Waste Works and From Farm to Fork. If you would like a copy of the booklet, please email us.
