The Trust began a project called “Stepping Out” in 2004, which saw trust workers engaging with local carers and the people they look after, and which supports them to access and enjoy the countryside. Since the original project funding ended, groups of carers are once again able to continue their outings, and this grant will help the Trust to continue the provision of free transport and assistance for these trips.
Peter Thorne, from The Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, said: “This generous grant from The Co-operative will allow us to continue our successful service, offering carers and people with mental health problems the chance to enjoy the wonderful countryside through a series of monthly trips.”
