Founded by volunteers in 1965 to search for and rescue lost and injured people within West Yorkshire, the 47 strong team is using the £1,070 to replace a 20-year-old stretcher with a modern lightweight MacInnes supalite stretcher with a fitted wheel making it easier for the team members to manoeuvre and makes it more comfortable for the casualties.
Al Day, Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team Leader, said: “This grant from The Co-operative will make a big difference to the search and rescue team and also the casualties."
