life as a committee member is far from dull

Committee members play a variety of roles: by helping us to develop our businesses, such as sharing thier view regarding our trading operations; by identifying new sites for our stores; by helping us make a difference to local communities by directing our community funds to good causes; and by reflecting the values of our business by supporting issues such as fair trade, animal welfare and ethical investment.

Below are three short films which will give you a fuller picture of what it means to be an elected member, how to stand for election, and help you learn more about The Co-operative business.

  • watch the Get Active webcast and find out about the important role our elected members play
