Regional Boards
How the democratic structure works

After serving a minimum of two years on a local committee, members can stand for election on to Regional Boards. Each Regional Board usually comprises between 12–16 members who also serve for three years. Your Area Committee elect representatives onto your
Regional Board which:
- monitor the sales and profitability of the Society’s businesses in the region
-
approve proposals for the acquisition, refurbishment and closure of trading branches
-
work with management and The Co‑operative Group Board of Directors to ensure members’ interests are represented.
