Ways to pay for Set Funeral Plans

Our Set Funeral Plans are available for both burial and cremation, and are designed to make choosing your Plan both straightforward and affordable. You have the reassurance that all the services included are fully guaranteed so there will be no more to pay for them - regardless of how funeral costs increase in the future.

Set Burial Plans are not available through The Co-operative Funeralcare Funeral Homes.
A Set Burial Plan does not include the cost of purchasing a grave - this will need to be arranged separately in advance. You can do this through one of our Funeral Directors or you can call the Funeral Planning team for advice on 0800 088 4872.
If you cancel the Plan within 30 days we'll refund the payment you've made.
If you cancel after 30 days, all your payments will be refunded, but there will be a Cancellation Charge of £250.

Pay over 12, 24 or 36 months

To make your Plan more affordable you can spread the cost over 12, 24 or 36 months and pay by Direct Debit. If you choose to pay over 12 months, you won't have to pay any extra for paying by instalments. In all cases your monthly payment will never rise, no matter how much funeral costs increase.

All our Plans are fully guaranteed, so all the services included in your Plan are covered and there's no more to pay for them when the time comes, regardless of how funeral costs have increased.

If you choose to pay over 12 months, you won't have to pay an extra charge for paying by instalments.
The 24 month option includes an Instalment Charge equivalent to 9% of the single payment price. The 36 month option includes an Instalment Charge equivalent to 15% of the single payment price.
If you die before all the payments have been made, the balance of the Plan will need to be paid in order for the full contents of the Funeral Plan to be provided. Alternatively the Plan may be cancelled and all the payments made will be refunded. However there would be a Cancellation Charge of £250.
If you cancel the Plan within 30 days we'll refund the payment you've made.
If you cancel after 30 days, all your payments will be refunded, but a Cancellation Charge of £250 will apply.

Lower monthly payments

With the fixed monthly payment option you can make your Funeral Plan much more affordable, and protect yourself from any rises in funeral costs.

Each month you pay a fixed amount for the type of Plan you've chosen - there are no increases over time, so you have the peace of mind of knowing exactly how much your payments are each month. There are no medical questions to answer - you simply need to be aged between 50 and 80 to qualify.

The table below shows you the monthly payments for each Plan based on your age. An example is also provided here.

Please note that to ensure ongoing cover, payments are made for life or until the Plan anniversary before your 90th birthday. All the services detailed in your Plan will be covered as soon as you've been paying into your Plan for two years.
