Winter Road Safety Message Delivered to 43,000 Schoolchilden

19 November 2014

Schools and youth groups across the UK have worked with The Co-operative Funeralcare, the UK’s largest funeral provider, to keep more than 43,000 youngsters safe this winter.

The Co-operative Funeralcare has teamed up with national road safety charity, Brake, for a fifth year running to encourage schools to help make children aware about road safety, particularly during winter.

Special school lessons and assemblies about road safety have also been delivered to school children to help them stay safe on the roads during the dark winter nights.

This year, a special road safety video has also been developed, helping to reach even more children online.

John Taylor, National Community Manager, The Co-operative Funeralcare said:

“We are helping to raise awareness of the importance of being visible on the road during dark nights. Darker mornings and evenings mean that children need to take extra care,” said He continued: “This year’s campaign has been developed to reach even more children so we have created a special video available on our website and YouTube channel, which has been really well received by schools giving them an additional learning resource for this week’s Road Safety Week.”
