Shared learning: fulfilling the promise

How social prescribing can most effectively tackle loneliness.

In 2018, the Government committed to a loneliness strategy setting out an ambitious agenda for tackling loneliness. A cornerstone of the strategy was the roll-out of social prescribing schemes across England.

This follow up to our first shared learning report, draws on our practical experience of delivering social prescribing services to those experiencing loneliness through our British Red Cross Community Connector schemes.

It also builds on our previous learning report that identifies common barriers and solutions to tackling loneliness through Community Connector schemes, by offering an up-close look of how social prescribing models can best be designed to tackle loneliness effectively.
