I was new to Council in 2020 and have really enjoyed getting to grips with being a Council Member, even with the circumstances being very different from what I expected when I stood for election. Despite doing all our business virtually this year, the Council has continued to fulfil our role of holding the Board to account and championing the co-operative values and principles.

I think the whole Council has been inspired by the resilience and commitment of Co-op colleagues and Member Pioneers through the pandemic. The unprecedented events of 2020 have shown, once again, the relevance of our co-op values and the power of people working together. I look forward to being part of Council as we hopefully move beyond the pandemic and into a rebuilding phase for our country in which I know the Co-op, and our values, have a big part to play.
