From a long line of farmers and fishermen, like them, my core passion is the basic right for good honest food. Co-op stores are not only a place to buy groceries but also a safe place to engage with the warmth of your community. These are two of my focus areas: good food (provision and education) and community. I am a people focused creative thinker and proven problem solver with extensive change and Board experience.

I represent you on our Members' Council as Chair of the Member Value and Business Performance Committee. A chartered accountant, I have a strong background in reviewing governance in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. I have been a UNISON representative for 30 years working hard for members at local, regional and national levels. I seek to combine the best of co-operative experience with a focused, professional approach.

I hold a business degree and am passionate about serving the community by listening to what your wishes, needs and opinions are, and representing your important concerns where it counts. Key issues that matter to me are affordability of products and combating food poverty. I recognise the real challenges faced in our communities, with regards to when the pricing of goods and services do not stay in line with what wage earners can comfortably afford.

With 16 years experience as a colleague member, I've progressed from a customer team member to store manager within food stores and now I've moved into Funeralcare as a funeral director which I've been doing for 2 years. I'm also a trustee on the board of directors for the Co-op Foundation. I love putting what it means to be a co-operative at the heart of everything I do.

I have lived at my present address for over 46 years, I am married with a son and two grandsons. I'm here to offer my knowledge and lifetime experiences to help to promote and support Co-op stores. I'm keen to promote the Fairtrade offer and assist the continuous growth of the Co-op.
