Balornock Co-op (Glasgow) re-opens in time for Christmas following six-week major makeover

Wallacewell Road’s Co-op (Balornock, Glasgow) relaunches (Thursday, 19 December) following a six-week programme of works and improvements to ‘transform’ the store.
The near 1,800 sq ft store supports 15 local jobs and serves-up a focus on fresh, healthy and chilled food, along with Costa Coffee Express; meal ideas and everyday essentials; food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products; bakery goods – including local Glasgow-based bakery McGhee’s; award winning wines; ready meals; pizzas; vegan and plant-based products.
Young Scot cardholders enjoy a 10% discount off groceries. In addition, Co-op is owned by its members who enjoy a wide range of benefits including member-only price savings across everyday essentials, and personalised offers via the Co-op Membership App.
Quick and convenient online home delivery of groceries is provided by Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo, plus co-op’s own online shop – shop.coop.co.uk - orders are picked fresh in the local store and delivered in the community.
Parcel collection services are available via DPD, and payment services offered by PayPoint.

A soft plastic recycle unit is available in store to enable the community to return ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches - ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through either local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store soft plastic recycling.
