Bigger and better than ever: Co-op bakery treats get indulgent upgrade
23 September 2026
- Co-op transforms in-store bakery treats with four new and improved all year-round bakes and a limited-edition autumn flavour
- Bigger and better cookies, shortbread and granola set to rival other retailers’ offerings
- Shopper favourite cookies now contain even more Belgian chocolate and are baked for a softer, chewier bite

Co-op has given its in-store bakery treats a serious upgrade this autumn, with bigger bakes, more chocolate, more fruit and seeds, and richer recipes designed to bring bakery store style indulgence to shelves for just £2.50 per 4 pack. To mark the launch, shoppers can pick up a bag from the range for £2 until 29th September – working out at just 50p per treat.
Available now, the premium range includes Irresistible Milk Chocolate Cookies, Irresistible Triple Chocolate Cookies, Irresistible Shortbread and Irresistible Fruit Granola, where every product has got bigger and each recipe upgraded to taste even more ‘Irresistible’.

Leading the line-up are the new Triple Chocolate and Milk Chocolate cookies, packed with plenty more Belgian chocolate in every bite, plus extra butter, brown sugar and golden syrup to create a rich and buttery flavour. A tweak to the baking process means the cookies are soft, chewy and perfectly balanced with a crisp outer edge. The elevated range offers shoppers more choice of high quality, tasty bakes, wherever they live, with the treats available in 2,200 stores across the UK.
It's not just the cookies which had a glow-up – Co-op's all-butter Shortbread are chunky and packed with Belgian milk chocolate buttons, with a ‘melt in mouth’ texture, hand finished with a dusting of sugar. Whilst Co-op’s Fruit Granola contains even more fruit and seeds, including sultanas, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and cranberries, all wrapped up in a rich all-butter recipe with a golden caramelised texture.

Joining the range for a limited time only is the new Toffee Popcorn Cookie, available from end of September until early December. Combining Belgian milk chocolate, salted caramel fudge and chewy toffee popcorn, it's packed with all the flavours of a cosy movie evening as the nights draw in!
Amber England, Product Development Manager for In Store Bakery at Co-op said: “There's nothing quite like a delicious bakery treat with a morning coffee, or an afternoon cuppa. So we've gone back to some of our favourite cookies and bakes and made them bigger, tastier and even more indulgent.
From cookies packed with Belgian chocolate to buttery shortbread and fruity granola, we've fine-tuned every recipe to give cookie connoisseurs what they want at great value – we can't wait for people to get their hands on them!"
And the indulgence doesn’t stop in the bakery aisle – Co-op has also launched a selection of premium biscuits including Irresistible Fully Coated Deep Filled Custard Creams (162g, £2.50). This decadent twist on the biscuit tin staple features a classic custard cream, smothered in an extra thick and luxury coating of smooth milk chocolate.
