The High Street, Blaina, store – which supports 15 local jobs – has been ‘transformed’ with a fresh new look, and includes an enhanced range of fresh, healthy products, alongside a bakery, hot food and the addition of Costa Coffee Express. This sits alongside the store’s focus on food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade products, pizzas, flowers; ready meals, award winning beers and wines, news and magazines, and, every day essentials.
Blaina’s Co-op is a hub for Co-op’s online grocery delivery with orders picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community. Online orders are available via Just Eat, Deliveroo and, Uber Eats coming soon. Other services include payment services via PayPoint, National Lottery and, the added convenience of out-of-home collection of parcels at the store through DPD and an InPost Locker.
New refrigeration will not only enhance the fresh, chilled and frozen range, but also support Co-op’s work to further cut its carbon footprint. Soft plastic recycling is also available, enabling shoppers to return harder to recycle materials such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.
Self-service tills have been added for further ease and convenience, particularly at busier times. Customer car parking is also available.
Member price savings create additional value for Co-op’s member-owners, with personalised offers for members and lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.
Joseph Morris, Co-op’s Area Operations Manager, said: “The whole team is delighted to invest in the town’s Co-op in the High Street, and we are really looking forward to welcoming the community back into the store.
