Callander’s Co-op is set to re-launch this week following an extensive 11-week programme of works and improvements to ‘transform’ the community's store.

Co-op

Located in Main Street, Callander, the store – which supports 16 local jobs – has a brand new look, range and choice including a new hot food serve-over counter from Stephens Bakery, Costa Coffee Express and, increased focus on fresh and healthy products. This sits alongside food-to-go and meal deals; Fairtrade goods; pizzas; flowers; ready meals; party food for the festive season; award winning beers and wines and, everyday essentials.

The latest refrigeration not only cuts Co-op’s carbon footprint, but also enhances the store’s fresh, chilled and frozen range.

Parcel collection services are available over the counter via Amazon.

Discounts are available for Young Scot cardholders.

The extensive programme of works also included new flooring, roof and fittings.

Co-op is committed to backing British High Streets, and David MacDougall, Co-op Area Operations Manager, said: “We’re delighted to invest in Callander. The store has seen a huge transformation, it looks fantastic with an enhanced range and choice. We’re proud to be part of local community life. We have a focus on being a hub locally for the community, delivering the quality, choice, value and added services which can be enjoyed by everyone - we're here to contribute to and, play a key part in local life and, conveniently serve and support the community.”

Member price savings create additional value for Co-op members who can save more with personalised offers, deals and promotions and, lower prices on the products shoppers buy most.

Soft plastic recycling is available in store, making it easier for shoppers to return and recycle materials that many local authorities do not yet accept in kerbside recycling, such as crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches.

Co-op is committed to backing British agriculture, with all of its fresh and frozen meat 100% British – including in its pies, ready meals and sandwiches.

The store is one of 50 new or transformed stores Co-op confirmed last month it would open before Christmas, including stores in: Brora; Irvine; Inverness; Fortrose; Selkirk and Gairloch, as well as here in Callander.
