Co-op and John Lewis extend Click & Collect service trial

15 September 2019

Co-op and John Lewis & Partners’ have extended their Click & Collect service trial to more than 50 Co-op food stores, it has been revealed today (Thursday, 12 September).

The extended roll-out of the service forms part of John Lewis & Partners' strategy to invest and innovate in its digital capabilities to improve customer convenience - offering customers access to the popular Next Day Click & Collect service in communities where John Lewis has a lower shop presence.

It follows the successful introduction of the service at five Co-op food stores earlier this year (May 2019).

The Click & Collect Service will now be available in towns and cities across the UK, including: Bristol; Cambridge; Derby; Leicester; London; Manchester; Nottingham; Plymouth and Wrexham.

Eva Cullen, Partner & Head of Customer Fulfilment Operations for John Lewis & Partners, said: “Convenience is more important than ever to our customers and our Click & Collect service allows them to pick up their order at a time and place which suits them. Following the successful trial and positive feedback from customers we are looking forward to extending this service to reach even more customers while engaging with new ones too.”

Mark Pettigrew, Director of Retail Support, Co-op, said: “This latest development enables Co-op to enrich its offer in more communities. We continually look to ways to evolve in order to meet the needs of our Members and customers, and our initial trial has been very well received – creating added choice, ease and convenience for time-pressed shoppers.”

The roll-out is expected to be complete by the end of October, 2019.
